SO HOW ABOUT THAT LAST FRINGE EPISODE. Ijdk, you guys. On the one hand, I could not help but get all misty-eyed and happy-faced at that last scene. On the other, yeah, I am of very mixed feelings about Olivia's decision.

Spoiler cut! )

Anyway, regardless of all that, "They hid the universe from me. :|" is going down as one of the most epic Fringe quotes of all time, imo. XD;

Have an interview with Martin Freeman where he calls the relationship between Sherlock and John a "love story".

(That sound? THAT IS THE SOUND OF MY SHRIVELED GRINCH HEART GROWING THREE SIZES.)

Also, have a Louise Brealey (Molly) tweeting what Molly's 'heartfelt present' to Sherlock was. (NSFW) She is hysterical, omg, I love her.

So I just finished watching True Blood S4 and I'm actually KIND OF MAD, lol. Idek you guys, I was pretty fucking pissed about spoiler ), but at least I saw that coming from a mile away, and I could have gotten past it. (And the results of that may be... uh, interesting, to boot.) But spoiler ). WHAT THE FUCK. THAT WAS SO FUCKING RANDOM. WHY WOULD YOU EVEN FUCKING DO THAT. IT DOESN'T EVEN MAKE ANY SENSE. GODDAMN.

Fuck you, True Blood writers. No srsly, fuck you. I've mostly been merely hilaritized by all your shock-factor camp writing, which is the reason I've watched the show to this point, but you've taken this shit too far. This was just completely random and pointless. Fuck.

(And I notice the characters you just spoiler ) Don't think I don't see what you did there.)

Idek if I want to watch the next season. I'm curious as to what happens to Lafayette, but lord knows they're just going to make him as miserable as possible, so I'm not sure there's any point.

SHERLOCK WTF

- So like, Sherlock. I don't even know you guys. I enjoyed the first season a lot, although I remembered very little of it. I snapped up the first ep of the 2nd season anyway, watched it... and then watched it again an hour after I'd finished. Then, a day later! I watched it AGAIN with Dave. XD;

Idk, I had a lot of problems with the episode, which I won't get into because I JUST WANT TO SMOOSH THEIR ADORABLE FACES uh, well, BORING b/c everyone else has already enumerated every problem I had with it, so I'm just wasting my breath, butttt... Watching a show 3 times in 2 days is not normal behavior for me, is all I'm sayin'! WTF, did they lace this new season with pure crack?

Photobucket

(Yes. Yes they did.)

(Actually, I feel compelled to note that something approximating romantic interest between Sherlock and Irene is not actually one of my problems with it. I get why so many of you hate this! I really do! But... Look, okay, that type of thing is one of my most hardcore fictional kinks, ngl. XD;)

eta: Oh! I nearly forgot. A conversation:

Me: Benedict Cumberbatch. Why is his face?

Dave: Benedict Cumberbash?

Me: Cumberbatch.

Dave: Benedict Cumberbatch. I bet his real name's George.

Me: No, that's his name. The best name for that face, really...

Dave: Wait, who is Benedict Cumberbatch?

Me: Sherlock! He plays Sherlock!

Dave: ...Oh. I thought he must be some improbably-named character in the show...

Me: ...No, that's his... actual name...

- In unrelated non-news, I have had this laptop for nearly a month now and I still can't figure out a name for it. D: All I know is it's metallic, purple-tinted, and female. (My old laptop is male. Look, don't ask me, they just are, okay.)

- Speaking of completely irrational animistic thinking, the other day I was taking a walk through my neighborhood, looked at a building I was walking by and thought to myself, "I wonder if all the residents in that building are friends, their cars look so friendly with each other!" It took a good 20 or 30 seconds for me to even note it as a strange thought.

HOLY CRAP part the 24398th

branewurms: (Fringe - STRAWBERRY FLAVORED DEATH)
SO. Is it just me, or do the creators of Fringe seem bound and determined to keep the audience in an ever escalating state of HOLY CRAP!!! this season? Last week we've got Anna Torv running around doing her unnervingly apt imitation of Leonard Nemoy for the whole episode and this universe's version of Lincoln Lee showing up, and this week we're in the otherverse watching Lincoln and Henry the freaking cab driver deliver Altlivia's freaky accelerated growth baby in a random Chinatown shop, what the Christ? (Also, I was seriously impressed at the way episode before last made me go "OH MY GOD!!!" with the recap, before the episode even started. Srsly, you guys, you guys, srsly.)

ANYWAY I just want to say that Lincoln Lee is the most adorable thing ever, jfc he is like a little kitten and I just want to scoop him up and squeeze the tar out of him, omg. How can anyone be that smooshable? I MEAN LOOK AT THIS FACE. HOW CAN YOU NOT WANT TO SMOOSH THIS FACE.

During that whole bit with Lincoln bawling over Altlivia I was all, "This is such blatant bid to get the fangirls in flailing conniptions. ...I, uh, I think it's working. *_*" And I think I'm starting to ship Lincoln/Altlivia kind of hardcore. Sobbb please don't end up killing them off, show, PLEASE????
branewurms: (Fringe - STRAWBERRY FLAVORED DEATH)

TROLLOLOLOL GDI WILLIAM BELL DO YOU NEVER STOP TROLLING.

Incidentally Anna Torv's Leonard Nimoy impression is rather impressive... DISTURBINGLY IMPRESSIVE AUGH.

Fringe 313: O SHI -

Bizarre dashing of soap opera tropes into my sci-fi/horror, what is this??? Aside from that, I would just like to say that in all of the freaky-ass gore this show has thrown around, nothing has squicked me as much as this episode. WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME, FRINGE, WHY, WHAT DID I EVER DO TO YOU.

getitoffmeeeeeeeeee

Was weird to see an episode with Altlivia as the protagonist. I mean, we had plenty of episodes with her at the center of them, but she was still an antagonist in those. It was interesting, and I wouldn't mind seeing more of them. Also, Lincoln is the most adorable thing ever, y/y?

Lastly: BUG FANGIRL. GREATEST THING EVER. OMG SHE WAS THE BESTEST.

Madoka Magica ep6: THAT CREEPY LITTLE RAT. Omg. Guys, seriously, did you seriously not realize until now that you were being manipulated? (I guess I'm being too harsh. I reckon middle schoolers are so used to being manipulated it hardly registers.)

Star Driver ep 1-18: Watched the first ep of this back when it started broadcasting and everyone was talking about it, and I was kind of ambivalent. Went ahead and marathoned up to current in a fit of boredom last week. THIS SHOW MAKES NO SENSE. NONE. It's basically an incoherent collection of fanservice, bizarre and unsettling robots, sexual metaphors, and surreal references to other surreal series. But it is pretty hysterical. I mean, with GALACTIC PRETTY BOY* here to save the day, what could possibly go wrong?

*no seriously, that is actually what the main character is called, I am not making this up

Level E 1-5: Hilarious, mindless sci-fi/comedy. Not really much to say beyond that... I recommend it if you like that sort of thing.

Yumeikui Merry 1-2: Dig the concept (a dream creature stuck in reality), but the execution is a bore. The moe is a little overwhelming too, but I could get past that if it wasn't such a snooze.

Gosick 1-5: Kind of meh about this. I like the girl, but the boy gets on my nerves. Also the mysteries are kind of... well, as Victorique says, they're boring. It's pretty, though.

Weird dream w/the Leverage team in a post-apocalyptic scenario, but all that was really going on was Sophie trying to finagle her way into a posh hotel room. L-lol why, brain. (She finally got one, but inexplicably, there were rotting root vegetables of some sort in the bathtub.)
branewurms: (Fringe - STRAWBERRY FLAVORED DEATH)
Re: recent events in Fringe! (Wow, that was a good arc and all, but boy am I glad it's over.)

Now, don't get me wrong, I am all for focusing on Olivia at every possible juncture, but while everyone's worrying about her trauma, shouldn't someone... spare a thought for Peter? I mean, granted, the scale of trauma here is rather different, but I think what Peter's gone through is pretty darn traumatic??? What with him having been DATING AND SLEEPING WITH AN IMPOSTOR FOR LIKE WHAT, WEEKS?! MONTHS?! And yet.

Also, I am still kind of annoyed at the whole Peter never realizing it was the wrong Olivia thing. I mean, you just cannot play up a character as so smart and observant and as having such a keen understanding of people and then... have him so completely drop the ball. cut for brief spoilery rant )

Anyway, /tl;dr random rant about a show that is ~95% everything I could ever possibly want from TV. I HAVE A VAGENDA AND I AM NOT AFRAID TO USE IT.

Zoie Palmer wonders what it means to ship something.

ahhh lolling forever how on earth did she manage to get through a whole season of that show before learning this word

- So like, I don't get the point of eyeshadow base/primer. Can't you just use foundation? What's the difference? Make-up is so confusing. :\

- Relatedly, Aromaleigh final clearance sale. I am having a difficult time restraining myself from buying ALL THE EYESHADOWS, despite the fact that I rarely wear the stuff. T-they're so pretty and sparkly ;.;

I am so sad they're going out of business you guys, what am I going to do for foundation/concealer/powder when I run out of mine? (Fortunately that should be... years, given my rate of use and how much I picked up at the sale.)

- I have had two leaks in as many weeks. Plumber dude said the other day he was out in this neighborhood fixing a leak, and about as soon as he fixed the leak and left, another pipe on the other side of the SAME APARTMENT cracked open and started pouring water down the wall, so he had to come right back. Seriously, this is ridiculous.

Both of our recent leaks were slow leaks that had been going on a while without us noticing. The one last week had been dripping into the carpet, unnoticed, the carpet mildewing horribly, and when we went to move the bookcase sitting over the wet spot, this god-awful sewage-like smell burst out of it. Yeah. That screams healthy. As if I'm not sick enough already. :| And they didn't even cut out that square of carpet or anything. I don't even know what they did, but it doesn't stink anymore, although there's still a pink stain from the mildew.

- Recently watched:

First 2 eps of Lost Girl (on some Canadian channel, I don't remember) - Wonderfully cheesy and fun urban fantasy! But seriously, they had me at "the main character is a bisexual succubus." Can we please get some makeouts with the doctor lady? Please? PLEASE. I like the doctor lady better than the shapeshifter dude. MAKEOUTS PLSKTHX.

Sherlock (the recent BBC miniseries) - I had no idea this would be so entertaining or I would have watched it sooner. He's so MANIC and COMPLETELY BATSHIT. Possibly both the creepiest and most hilarious interpretation of Sherlock ever.

Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) has the oddest face. It's like someone squashed a very pretty face together with a somewhat homely, weird-looking face, and the end result is sort of confusing but fascinating. I wouldn't call him handsome, but I like looking at him.

Incidentally, dude playing Watson favors Dave's dad so much it freaks me out.

White Collar - it's not quite Leverage, but it's got some of Leverage's charm, and it's really entertaining. And wassname playing Neal is some very nice eyecandy. (Although his eyes freak me out! They're so WIDE and INTENSE and MANIC. They give me the feeling that he is about to start vibrating faster and faster until he EXPLODES.)

Also: Diana! I love her so much. When she disappeared after the first episode I was CRUSHED, you guys. Then when she came back for the S1 finale I was all :DDD!!! And then she stuck around for S2! GLEE. S2 ep2 was THE BEST.

But seriously, that cliffhanger at the end of the summer half? JFC, YOU GUYS. JFC.

Man. I haven't watched this much English-language stuff in a long time. WHERE ARE THE SUBTITLES? S-sob I am actually serious I keep missing so much of what they're saying. ;____;
