Pandora Hearts ep. 16:
Er, that was kind of underwhelming, especially after the pure awesome of the last one. This was incredibly rushed. And they took out Alice and Raven's angst-muffin moments, which made me sad, because that was such a cute scene. And this is kind of lower priority, but SOB, no Duchess Lainsworth and Duke Barma?
But an even bigger issue than the pacing for me was: um, what the hell were they thinking by having Daisuke Ono voice Oz while Jack was possessing him? Okay, having a different voice come out of someone who's possessed is a pretty common thing to do, but they'd already set the precedent of Oz keeping his own voice back when Alice possessed him. Minagawa simply did the role as Alice during that time, and she did a great job at it, too. It's not like she couldn't have done Jack just as well. The obvious thing to do would have been to have Minagawa do it, and for those scenes where Jack's image was doubled over Oz's, have both actors speak at the same time - that would have had really great impact! It would have given me goosebumps!
But no, we can't have that. That would be too sensible.
Really, that whole scene just didn't have any impact. In the manga I totally bought all those guys being bowled over and bowing down; here it just seemed silly.
But at least they didn't cut the bit with Alice and Raven sleeping on either side of Oz's bed. ♥♥♥ And the added bit with Alice kicking Raven in her sleep was adorable. And I certainly can't complain about an angry Break, although it's a shame they hurtled through those scenes so quickly.
But uh, the preview. How on earth are they going to get the whole thing with Sharon in and the beginning of the school arc? Are they skipping Sharon entirely? But that is not possible, they've already done the lead-in!
I hope to be proved wrong here, but I think there is no way this is not going to be fail. :\
