Canaan ep 1:







Well that was certainly promising.

Contains the title character tying her friend's hands behind her back in order to keep her out of the line of fire - with a red string - and when the friend notes that "It's just a string, I can break this easily!" Canaan says, "Oh, you're going to break it? But didn't we become friends because of that string?"

Friend: "D:"

Canaan: ":D Bye! *runs off*"

Also contains an apparently insane woman talking about how she can feel her sister's "pulsations" and that they make her abdomen "undulate" while naked in the bath. Said apparently insane woman is posing as the secretary of some man, although signs seem to indicate he's actually her subordinate. Said apparently insane woman is also in the intro sequence doing martial arts in a church with both a gun and a huge sword.



Also contains another (possibly insane?) woman who, judging from the intro sequence, is going to be the title character's rival. In the intro sequence she is jumping out of a helicopter to shoot at Canaan as she falls through the air.



Plot is thus far inexplicable but I can't say I noticed much, ahaha. (That the plot seems to have something to do with synesthesia is both intriguing and baffling.) Animation in this episode was also very high-budget, badly CG'd balloons in the beginning not withstanding. Hopefully it keeps up this level of awesome in the next episode - and it'd be nice if it explains a little about what the hell is going on.
